Exeter’s newest coffee shop

2 min

One stop shop

Arrietty, a small but perfectly formed coffee and retail space on Longbrook Street, in Exeter, opened earlier this week.

It aims to be a one-stop shop for delicious coffee and cookies where customers can also find beautiful flowers and other small gifts.

Whilst being a large part of Harry’s Restaurant for more than 10 years, Zoe Beardshall is one of the known but never seen, amazing chefs. Working and learning alongside her mother and the owner of Harry’s Restaurant, Samantha Pounds.

Zoe will be joined at the helm by General Manager, Robynne Jurgens, who began her hospitality journey with Harry’s around 10 years ago and remains a part of the family.

Robynne will handle the day-to-day running of the coffee shop under the watchful eye of both Zoe and Samantha.

Meaning dainty and gorgeous, Arrietty is set to be a relaxing, modern coffee shop and has been in development for the past year. It will follow in the footsteps of its sister venue and will feature a number of local businesses.

Coffee will be made by Robynne using Origin Coffee’s Beija Flor coffee beans which will also be available for purchase. This coffee has been selected, not only for its great taste, but also for its story.

The blend was created by four extraordinary women, highlighting a collaborative spirit and celebrating the growth of female producers, something very close to the heart of Arrietty.

Arrietty has also forged a partnership with Stowford Farm Flowers and aims to stock fresh flowers daily.

The farm is located a stone’s throw from Zoe’s grandparent’s home in East Devon, where flowers are grown locally and will be hand-picked for delivery to Arrietty.

As well as all these little things, a trip to Arrietty might include freshly baked pastries, grilled cheese sandwiches, melt-in-the-middle cookies and the famous Harry’s Brownies, handmade by Zoe and Sam.

‘Passion for the little things’

‘We are very excited to open the doors at Arrietty and welcome everyone to experience our new coffee and retail shop. We can’t wait to share our passion for the little things and create memorable moments for our customers,’ says Zoe.

The team say that whether you’re dropping by for a morning coffee or looking for a quick bite during lunchtime or a sweet treat in the afternoon then Arrietty promises to brighten your day!
