Using AI secures prestigious tech award for Additive Catchments

Devon based Additive Catchments is celebrating following its recognition for innovation and sustainability at the recent Tech South West Awards.

The Tech South West Awards celebrate the ‘best in tech’ from across the South West of England including Bath, Bristol, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

More than 30 judges from across the region’s tech ecosystem decided the final shortlists – from more than 300 entries.

Launched in 2023, Additive Catchments is already gaining industry recognition for its leadership in improving river health. It combines advanced monitoring technologies with a ‘community first’ approach to restoring rivers – and enhancing biodiversity.

Additive Catchments was recognised as a standout in its field of water monitoring and management – winning Best Application of AI while also gaining the accolade of Highly Commended for Best Startup.

‘This is an incredible milestone for Additive Catchments. At a time when questions are being raised about the impact of AI on society and the environment, this award demonstrates its potential to be a force for good,’ says Rob Passmore, CEO of Additive Catchments.

‘By leveraging AI to tackle ecosystem challenges, we are advancing our mission to restore river and water health globally. This recognition underscores the power of innovation and collaboration in driving meaningful change. We’re just getting started.’
