English Heritage provides a trail to reveal history to families
How would you like to take part in a quest to find treasure? Well, maybe not for gold bullion or diamonds but treasure of the chocolate variety!
The English Heritage team at Pendennis Castle are running their Easter Adventure Quest from Saturday 23rd March until Sunday 14th April (from 1000 to 1700).
A quest booklet handed out to each participant will take families on an enjoyable hunt for eggs around the grounds. The goal is to uncover all of the clues which reveals the fascinating history behind Easter.
On completing the challenge there will be a tasty chocolate reward to tuck into. It costs just £2 to take part, for both English Heritage members and non-members, on top of the normal ticket price. There’s no need to book the quest, just simply turn up at site.

‘Get ready to hop into Easter with us at Pendennis Castle. Our quest is a delightful way to explore our sites and indulge in some chocolate while celebrating the spirit and history of the season,’ says Ella Harrison, Event Manager at English Heritage.
‘With the first day of Spring fast approaching, it’s also a lovely time to get outdoors with the whole family.’
Pendennis Castle stands as a reminder of the threat of invasion from Europe to Henry VIII’s Tudor England in the 1540s. The castle has watched over the port of Falmouth ever since.
Last year saw English Heritage give people the opportunity to take a glimpse at the ‘behind the scenes’ work carried out by its team and the specialist contractors who carry out maintenance using traditional skills and materials.
