Live streaming: ‘A great tool for coaching players at all levels’

Recent sponsorship by Timewade, an Exeter based IT company, is allowing Wimple Cricket Club to live-stream its matches online.

The support means the club can use cutting edge Frogbox technology to stream matches across the UK. It’s integrated with Play-Cricket to offer real-time scoring, in-play statistics and live coverage on YouTube.

It’s a win-win for the club as the technology allows players, coaches and supporters to follow games from anywhere.

‘Live streaming is becoming more common at local clubs, and we are delighted to now have this feature at Whimple,’ says Club Chairman, James Woollam.

‘It’s not only great for family and friends to be able to watch the games remotely, but video footage can be a great tool for coaching players at all levels. We are immensely grateful to Timewade for their support.’

Timewade explains funding the Frogbox system means the club can not only expand its reach – but also use the technology to improve training resources.

‘Grassroots sport is at the heart of local communities, and we are proud to support Whimple Cricket Club in their efforts to grow and develop,’ says Julian Wills, CEO at Timewade.

Enhancing the ‘club’s ability to connect with players, families, and supporters’

‘The introduction of live streaming will enhance the club’s ability to connect with players, families, and supporters, while also serving as a valuable coaching tool.’

‘We’re excited to see the impact of this technology and the continued success of the club, particularly the thriving ladies’ team.’

The move means Whimple Cricket Club’s visibility should grow as it can now offer live streaming for all home games: from junior level to adult cricket.

The club is home to two adult league sides. The ground sees Sunday and midweek social cricket with junior cricket for all ages (including mixed and girls cricket).
