More than 100 exhibitors taking part in top food event

Organisers for this year’s Powderham Food Festival are announcing an incredible line up of more than 100 exhibitors for the event which is being held at the start of October.

The team is providing free admission at the iconic Powderham Castle, near Exeter. It’s expected to attract large crowds from all over the region (and beyond) as visitors discover a wide array of gourmet treats that will tantalise their taste buds.

The festivities are packed with exciting entertainment, including the exhilarating annual chilli eating contest which is making a comeback by popular demand.

‘We’re thrilled to bring back the Powderham Food Festival for 2023 with free admission for all!’ says Ella Fielding, Head of Events and Weddings at Powderham Castle.

‘This year’s lineup promises a deliciously memorable experience, showcasing the finest local produce, and celebrating our region’s culinary heritage.’

Witness participants brave the heat as they compete for the title of the ultimate chilli connoisseur.

Foodies can indulge in a host of cooking demonstrations and rub shoulders with renowned chefs who will be sharing their culinary expertise and tips. It’s an extraordinary opportunity to elevate your gastronomic skills to new heights.

Visitors are also invited to explore the remarkable Powderham Castle itself. The castle will be open throughout the weekend, offering talks, workshops, and an inside look into over 600 years of fascinating history.

While tickets are free, visitors will have the opportunity to support the festival by making a donation at the event itself.

All proceeds will go towards the preservation of Powderham Castle. Car parking will be available at a cost of £8 per car. The event is being held on Saturday 7th October and Sunday 8th October 2023.
