Perfect entertainment for families and the summer holidays

Local dance companies Off the Wall and Cscape are highlighting their skills and talents in producing the exhilarating aerial show which is being performed at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.

Organisers say the production, entitled Wipeout, offers an ‘unforgettable, fun-filled experience for the whole family.’ Shows are taking place three times a day, every day, throughout the summer holidays.

The team is also joining forces with Surfers Against Sewage to run a special Ocean School. Families can get involved in a range of interactive activities.

‘We’re delighted to be partnering with such incredible companies and charities this summer,’ says Stuart Slade, Head of Public Programming at the museum.

‘These collaborations will bring fulfilling, educational, and of course, fun activities for the whole family.’

‘The aerial show is truly brilliant – surfers suspended in the air, incredible and daring movement metres above the ground, and something for all the family.’

Visitors can get hands-on in the Museum’s Make and Take craft zone, where children can create their own surfing creature, ocean animal sun visor, or wand to wave. Open daily from 12.30pm to 3.30pm (last entry 3.15pm).

Ocean School activities

Meanwhile, the Food Chain Museum Trail invites families to explore the galleries and discover more about the thousands of animals that live in UK waters – available every day from 10am to 5pm.

Families can take a breather in the Waterside Café, where children can stay entertained with a Voice of the Ocean poster colouring activity, running daily between 10am and 5pm.

The team’s also created a Mindful Space in the Lecture Theatre which will be open all day – providing a quiet retreat for those who need it.

Those who complete all of the Ocean School activities will be awarded an Ocean Activist certificate at the admissions desk.

Wipeout will be performed daily at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, with Relaxed Wipeout sessions every Sunday at 11am.

All activities are included in the cost of admission and there’s no need to book in advance. On paying the admission fee, visitors receive an Annual Pass, enabling them to return as many times as they wish for the following 12 months.
