Animation company PUSHED named in UK top 100
A Plymouth company is celebrating today having been named as one of the UK’s 100 most inspiring small businesses for 2025 by the Small Business Saturday campaign.
Following a nationwide search, PUSHED is being selected as part of this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up.
Organisers explain their goal is to showcase the most innovative, and admired, small businesses across the nation. It’s all being done in the build-up to this year’s Small Business Saturday on 6 December.
Running in the UK for more than a decade, Small Business Saturday is widely seen as a hugely successful campaign for small businesses. Its’ goal is to encourage people to support small firms.
PUSHED produces animated content and was founded by Dave and Karen Meadows in 2005.
‘We are delighted to be recognised as part of the Small Business 100 for 2025,’ explains Karen.
‘This honour highlights not only our team’s creativity and passion for animation, but also the unwavering support of our community, whose encouragement and trust has been instrumental. We’re proud to stand alongside other inspiring businesses making a difference.’

Small Business Saturday is a grassroots non-commercial campaign that was originally founded by American Express in the U.S. in 2010.
‘Receiving this recognition after 20 years of helping businesses communicate their messages means so much to us,’ says Dave.
‘It’s wonderful to be part of such a supportive community, all championing small businesses and we looking forward to continuing our involvement with this inspiring group.’

‘Represent some of the UK’s most-loved small businesses’
The day itself sees customers, from across the UK, head out to support all types of small businesses, from independent shops and restaurants through to members of the service industry.
‘Firms like PUSHED in this year’s SmallBiz100 represent some of the UK’s most-loved small businesses,’ explains Michelle Ovens CBE, Director of Small Business Saturday UK.
‘Small businesses are the nation’s favourite businesses – bringing immeasurable value to our local communities and powering the wider economy.’
‘It is so important that we encourage public support for small business up and down the country, as many are still facing a host of challenges as they enter this critical final stretch of the year.’
Organisers point to support from more than 90% of local councils and add that last year’s campaign saw support from the Prime Minister, the Mayor of London and the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
