ShelterBox appoints Director of Fundraising and Communications
International disaster relief charity ShelterBox is welcoming Fee Gilfeather as its new Director of Fundraising and Communications.
The organisation explains that Fee will be leading efforts to raise vital funds along with awareness of the charity’s work.
The charity supports people uprooted from their homes by disaster or conflict by providing them with emergency shelter and other essential items.
Fee is bringing more than 18 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector, including senior roles at Oxfam GB where she led mass engagement and fundraising campaigns.
Her expertise spans fundraising strategy, brand development, partnerships, and integrated communications.
‘I’m excited to join the team at ShelterBox and help drive its mission to ensure no one is left without shelter after disaster,’ explains Fee.
‘The need for emergency shelter is significant, and I’m passionate about connecting supporters with the incredible impact they can make.’

‘Amplifying the voices of the people we support is crucial’
‘Fee’s experience and passion for our mission will be invaluable as we work to reach more people in crisis around the world,’ says Sanj Srikanthan, ShelterBox CEO.
‘In a world where more than 117 million people are displaced and aid budgets are being cut, diversifying funding and amplifying the voices of the people we support is crucial. We’re excited to have Fee join us to lead this work.’
From its Truro headquarters in Cornwall, ShelterBox teams are currently supporting displaced communities in some of the world’s most overlooked crises, including Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
Since being established in 2000, ShelterBox has supported more than three million people across around 100 countries with shelter and essential items like water filters, solar lights, blankets and mosquito nets.
The charity has recently supported tens of thousands of people affected by a series of earthquakes and typhoons in the Philippines, where it has a permanent operational team.
Breaktime News recently reported on Her Majesty The Queen joining volunteers, staff and supporters of ShelterBox during a special visit to recognise the charity following its’ 25 years of helping others.
