Celebrating Cornwall’s emergency services

Organisers today announced a revamped Helifest, the popular one-day blue light festival brought to you by Cornwall Air Ambulance.

The fun-filled family day is taking place on Saturday 6th July 2024 at a new venue, Scorrier House near Redruth.

The event is set to see huge crowds enjoying the sun and celebrating the hard work of Cornwall’s emergency services.

‘We’re thrilled to be bringing Helifest to a new area of Cornwall, in the stunning setting of Scorrier House,’ says Rob Foster, Fundraising Officer for Events and Challenges at Cornwall Air Ambulance.

‘We are back bigger and better and we’re ready for a day of great entertainment. There is a fab line-up of local musicians who will be performing, some excellent food and drink stands to tuck into and of course lots of fun for all the family.’

The day will provide a unique opportunity for families to meet the Cornwall Air Ambulance crew and see the helicopter. There will also be teams from Devon and Cornwall Police together with Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.

They will be joined by Cornwall Blood Bikes, the British Army, HM Coastguard and the NHS. The RNLI and West Cornwall Search and Rescue will also be in attendance.

There will be entertainment for all the family with live music from local bands. Food and rides will also be high on the agenda. There’s even the chance for a helicopter ride with Adventure 001.

Raising awareness and raising money for the charity

All the money raised from Helifest will go towards keeping the air ambulance flying and, as such, helping the charity to save lives across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Helifest not only raises awareness of our lifesaving work here at Cornwall Air Ambulance, and of the other emergency services, but it also helps to raise the vital funds needed to keep your helicopter flying.’

‘We hope you’ll come and join us during our #Heli2 appeal year, your support will help us secure a second helicopter.’

Helifest is kindly supported and sponsored by Absolute Canvas and The Duchy Group.

Tickets cost £8 for adults, £5 for children, and family tickets are also available for £20. Book your tickets today: https://cornwallairambulancetrust.org/events/community-days/helifest-for-2024/
