America’s hidden history

2 min

A new book explores how America became a global superpower

Author Luigi Morelli explores Uncle Sam’s history from 1899 to 1945. His book,  Searching for the Spirit of the West Social Utopias and World Wars – A Hidden History of the USA in the Twentieth Century, is a must read for any modern historian.

Luigi’s  journey starts at the end of the US frontier and takes us through to the writing of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz before its climatic conclusion for the end of World War II – and the dropping of the atomic bomb.

His research traces events which lead to the United States becoming a dominating force on the world’s political stage.

He demonstrates how the country America is deeply connected to Britain, Germany and Eastern Europe (particularly Russia).

He says how, despite their tragic collective histories, there is hope for the future. And,  he explains, that hope rests on America claiming its true task.

Searching for the Spirit of the West challenges many of theories of mainstream history.

Luigi draws upon a wealth of documented evidence from the research of overlooked historians, economists, social and spiritual thinkers.

His goal is to take a symptomatic view of the past which reveals hidden, ‘longer term’ trends.

A new understanding of key historical events

The approach offers a new understanding for key historical events, such as the rise of Nazism, the Great Depression and The New Deal – and how clandestine organisations impact world events.

Morelli also appraises The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in parallel with America’s cultural achievements. Through imagination, L. Frank Baum’s contemporary fairy-tale enables us to intuit the true mission of the West and its potential contribution to world culture, now and in the future.

Luigi Morelli graduated with a Masters in Environmental Sciences in 1981. He has a passion for social change from a cultural perspective.

His American historical writings allow him to blend the historical-scientific with the imaginative approach of myths, legends and biographies.

His other work concern cultural renewal from a historical perspective and its present impacts on natural science, psychology, social science and literature. His books can be found at www.millenniumculmination.net
