First exhibition from New Atlantic Wave
The highly anticipated opening of Art Upstairs will be taking place in North Devon at the end of the month.
ArtMakers is opening the gallery on The Quay in Bideford. The team says the venue is unique and that it promises to be a ‘vibrant hub for art enthusiasts and cultural connoisseurs.’
Art Upstairs aims to provide a captivating space dedicated to showcasing exceptional works of art from ArtMakers’ extensive network of members.

Prior to the grand opening itself, there will be an exclusive preview of the venue and the work. This will be held on Thursday 27 July and will provide a special opportunity for distinguished guests and members of the press to experience the gallery’s artistic ambience.

Inspired by rich cultural heritage and coastal landscapes
The first exhibition to be hosted at Art Upstairs will be from the New Atlantic Wave. This is a collection of local artists and makers whose works are inspired by the rich cultural heritage and breathtaking coastal landscapes within the region.
As soon as the gallery opens its doors, visitors will have the privilege of immersing themselves in this awe-inspiring exhibition, curated to captivate the imagination and showcase the abundance of talent within the ArtMakers community.
Art Upstairs offers a unique and intimate setting for art enthusiasts to engage with a diverse range of artistic styles and mediums.
The gallery’s prime location in Bideford, a town known for its thriving arts community, will ensure that art lovers will have easy access to a dynamic venue. Organisers say it will host a diverse array of exhibitions, events, artistic programmes and workshops.
The gallery’s mission is to inspire, engage and promote artistic dialogue. The aim is to create an enriching experience for both established artists and emerging talents. The entrance is located on Bridgeland Street and the gallery officially opens on Saturday 29th July.
